- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar, plus extra for sprinkling cookies
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Melted semisweet or bittersweet chocolate
