Naan is an Indian flatbread which is popular all throughout Central and South Asia, as well as parts of Africa. This is a version that is particular to Afghanistan.



INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 lbs whole wheat flour (5 1/4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package quick-rising yeast
  • 4 -5 teaspoons vegetable oil (optional)
  • 2 cups warm water
  • nigella seeds (optional) or poppy seeds (optional) or sesame seeds (optional)
