DESCRIPTION
We live on the Gulf Coast, where fresh seafood is plentiful. I adapted several recipes to come up with this rich bisque. It's great as a first course or an entree, and it can be made with just shrimp or crabmeat. —Pat Edwards
INGREDIENTS
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 5 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1/2 cup King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
- 2 cups tomato juice
- 1 cup white wine or additional broth
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Dash white pepper
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup frozen uncooked lobster chunks, thawed
- Additional chopped basil
