This is a variation of the Maple Nut Scones I put in my very first cookbook years ago, and it's the same basic recipe I've us...



INGREDIENTS

  • SCONES
  • 2-3/4 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Regular Oats, Ground In A Food Processor Or Blender
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 sticks (1 Cup) Cold Butter, Cut Into Cubes
  • 1/2 cup Pecans, Finely Chopped
  • 3/4 cups Heavy Cream (more If Needed)
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Maple Extract
  • Icing
  • 5 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Strong Coffee
  • 2 teaspoons Maple Extract
