The lavender in these cupcakes is understated yet elegant and thoroughly unique. If the frosting part of the recipe does not appeal to you, you may substitute your favorite buttercream frosting instead.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon dried lavender flowers
- 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 egg white
- lilac food coloring
- 12 sprigs of fresh lavender (optional)
