  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
