- 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more as needed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup safflower oil
