DESCRIPTION
This savory dish, from chef Uri Navon of Machneyuda restaurant in Jerusalem, was inspired by steak leftovers, and includes hawaij, a traditional Yemen spice mixture.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 1/4 cup pistachios
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 3/4 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground lamb
- 1 tablespoon harissa
- 1 tablespoon minced preserved lemon
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon Hawaij (Yemeni spice mix) Hawaij (Traditional Yemeni Spice Mixture)
