- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 3 cups mashed medium very ripe bananas (about 6)
- 1 cup chopped toasted walnuts (optional)
