• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 3 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
